Live Streaming for Newsgathering
As a journalist you can plug your SDI or Firewire camera directly into the Merlin Backpack encoder which can bond dynamically from 6 SIMS from different providers allowing maximum throughput. Live Streams can played out directly via SDI or ingested into your broadcast matrix. IFB talkback comes as a standard feature.
Live Streaming from Mobile Phones
Citizen journalist streaming live video from their mobile can send to any webstreaming site such as Qik or Bambuser. Broadcasters can use Quicklink's Web to SDI application to play out the live streams to SDI. Over 500 makes of mobile phones supported including Nokia, Carl Zeiss Optics and iphone, there is no need to download any special application, just use your favourite application or the default technology on your phone. High speed streaming of 330 Kb/s at 25 & 30fps can be achieved. No ongoing subscription costs, free to use after purchase of Web to SDI software on a Quicklink playout server such as the Quicklink 3067PL-SD server.
Live Streaming from an iPhone
The Quicklink iPhone App is downloadable free from the Apple Store and allows superior quality full frame 25 or 30 fps transmissions with IFB talkback as standard. Special broadcast customised features such as light control on your shoot makes this a simple , small and easy tool for first on the scene reporters. The iPhone utilises WiFi or 3G connectivity , however WiFi to a mobile satellite can also be used.

High Speed Guaranteed Live Streaming from a Regional Bureau
Regional offices are able to transmit live content via high speed MPLS private network for broadcast quality playout at the central studio. The 3008E-HD is an ideal live encoder due to the ability to plug in a high quality SDI camera and its simple one touch LCD display with preset profiles. The HD Encoder can also be operated remotely by the control Centre thus ensuring the simplest of operations.. The Quicklink Media Manager is a revolutionary tool that put you in complete management control of your Quicklink streams from iPhones, Mac , PC , bonded Merlin backpack encoders , hardware encoders or indeed any H.264 standards based stream. The simple web based interface allows you to see incoming video previews and for you to drag and drop these to any IP based location .The outputs selected can be web based IP and/ or multiple SDI / Analogue Outputs.
Live Motorway Footage to Air
From the traffic control centre the video signal is inputted to a 3008E-SD encoder and sent via high speed public internet to be played out live to air using the 3008PL-SD. This allows live high quality broadcast footage to be available as a continual SDI content source to broadcast stations.
Live Horse Racing to the TV at Home
By using Quicklink's bonding box, 3.2 Mb total speed was achieved by bonding 4 ADSL 2+ lines at 800Kb each line. This 3.2 Mb speed was used with a professional camera and a 3008E-SD encoder box to transmit superb quality from the race track. The 3008PL-SD was used to decode the footage to SDI at the broadcast studio. Existing broadcast equipment then converts the SDI signal via satellite to the set top box on the home tv.
